UTC Clinic Provides Expert Advice on Social Networking and New Media in Public Relations
Peer-To-Peer Clinic features Brian Watkins, PR Manager of Social Media at Omniture, together with Snapp Conner PR

SALT LAKE CITY – June 23, 2008 – On July 02, 2008 the Utah Technology Council (UTC) will present a P2P clinic addressing issues of New Media in Public Relations. Brian Watkins, PR Manager of Social Media at Omniture, together with Snapp Conner PR, will lead the discussion and present ideas to integrate new and social media into a successful public relations plan.

“A few years ago social media was viewed as a fad that would never take hold in everyday business,” says Cheryl Snapp Conner, Managing Partner with Snapp Conner PR. “Since then, there has been a huge shift as key members of the media move toward these types of media as credible and viable sources for engaging their audiences. Today, nearly every PR program we are leading includes at least some elements of new media and social networking.”

The clinic will be held at 2825 East Cottonwood Parkway, Ste. 500 in the DaVinci Suites training room and will include discussion and real-life examples of arranging a company blog and social media integration, including:

- Monitoring social media - free and paid options
- Responding
- Influence - blogger relations
- Publishing - corporate blogging best practices

This clinic is free to UTC members. For more information on the clinic or for UTC membership information, please contact Mark Lehnhof (801) 568-3500.
